Job summary

System One in Reston, VA seeks a Product Manager (Contract To Hire) to own the product lifecycle, translate strategy into actionable requirements, manage beta programs, and develop marketing materials and technical documentation.

You will leverage market research for roadmaps, define milestones, support go-to-market launches, collaborate with engineering, sales, and supply chain, and shape pricing strategies with finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• 10 years of product management and/or product ownership experience (or 4 years relevant work experience in lieu of degree).
• Certified Product Manager (CPM) and Certified Product Marketing Manager (CPMM) certifications preferred upon hire.

Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Reston, Virginia
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $81 per hour
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Hours: 40.0 per week

Responsibilities

• Leads the entire product management life cycle, translating business strategy into downstream product processes. Ensures all stakeholder features, requirements, and acceptance criteria support delivery and testing of new products and features. Manages beta programs, develops product marketing materials, and technical documentation. Ensures new products support existing products where applicable.
• Leverages market research as inputs into the product roadmap, gathering customer feedback and analyzing the product landscape. Updates existing products and integrates new technologies, ensuring Product Owners' backlogs incorporate this data into their prioritization.
• Defines the product roadmap, showing value at each milestone. Creates features or capabilities aligned with business strategy, translating it into workflows, user stories, or required features.
• Assists with go-to-market strategy and launches for new products; facilitates product release with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and supply chain. Develops and delivers product presentations.
• Facilitates marketing and stakeholder communications, translating technical solutions into value propositions.
• Collaborates with finance to define revenue drivers and pricing strategies for market competitiveness and profitability.
• Identifies and documents market information, including competitive analysis, threats, trends, and other insights relevant to management, sales, and marketing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
• 10 years of experience in product management and/or product ownership (or additional 4 years relevant work experience in lieu of degree)
• Must have in-depth technical knowledge and background in AI technology and use cases such as Chatbots, AI agents
• Experience leading large AI initiatives or portfolios
• Proficient in project planning and lifecycle development
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, principles, and procedures
• Ability to utilize Product KPIs and business metrics to optimize products
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Licenses/Certifications: Certified Product Manager (CPM) - AIPMM (upon hire preferred), Certified Product Marketing Manager (CPMM) - AIPMM (upon hire preferred)
