Qualifications

• 7+ years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience within software or technology environments.
• Experience owning technical, platform, or enterprise software products, not solely customer-facing features.
• Experience managing products or initiatives that span multiple applications, systems, or engineering teams.
• Strong experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical capabilities.

• Product Ownership & Platform Strategy: Own and help prioritize the roadmap and backlog for a shared enterprise software platform.

• Determine which capabilities should be built centrally and reused across applications.
• Balance immediate product needs with long-term scalability and strategy of the platform.

Insight Global is assisting a client in finding a Senior Technical Product Owner to help lead the continued expansion of an enterprise software platform that supports multiple applications used by both internal teams and external customers. The platform was established in 2024 and is now entering a significant period of growth. Over the next several years, the team will be building new shared capabilities that can be used across multiple products rather than developing the same functionality independently within each application. This role will be heavily focused on product ownership, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and translating business needs into scalable technical capabilities. You do not need to be a hands-on developer, but you need enough technical depth to communicate effectively with software engineers and understand how applications, APIs, integrations, and shared platform services work.

Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Platform Strategy
• Own and help prioritize the roadmap and backlog for a shared enterprise software platform.
• Gather requirements from product leaders and stakeholders across multiple applications.
• Translate business problems into clear platform capabilities, technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Determine which capabilities should be built centrally and reused across applications.
• Balance immediate product needs with the long-term scalability and strategy of the platform.
• Help guide the platform through its next major stage of growth and adoption.Cross-Application Platform Development
• Work across multiple software products that rely on the same underlying platform.
• Coordinate requirements and dependencies between product owners, engineering teams, architecture, and other technical stakeholders.
• Help design shared capabilities such as authentication/login functionality, PDF generation, customer feedback/NPS functionality, integrations, and other reusable application services.
• Understand how platform functionality integrates with mobile, web, and other software applications.
• Participate in technical discussions involving APIs, integrations, application architecture, data flows, and platform services.Stakeholder & Delivery Management
• Partner with multiple product heads and stakeholders who may have different priorities.
• Translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and business requirements for engineering teams.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple products and enterprise initiatives.
• Partner with engineering and delivery teams throughout development, testing, and release.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and roadblocks across applications and teams.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience within software or technology environments.
• Experience owning technical, platform, or enterprise software products, not solely customer-facing application features.
• Experience managing products or initiatives that span multiple applications, systems, or engineering teams.
• Strong experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical capabilities.
• Ability to work with multiple senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
• Strong technical fluency with software development concepts such as APIs, integrations, application architecture, microservices, and data flows.
• Familiarity with .NET environments and the ability to communicate effectively with .NET/software engineering teams.Experience managing large, complex projects or product initiatives in an enterprise environment.
• Previous technical background in software development, QA, DevOps, architecture, or engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with enterprise platform engineering or shared services.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Miro.
• Exposure to AI-assisted product management, software development, automation, or AI-enabled engineering tools.Experience introducing AI or automation capabilities into a software product roadmap.
