Job description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves, and build a better world—together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Do you believe modern technology platforms are essential to designing the vehicles of the future? We do! Transforming Product Development requires scalable, highly available platforms and software solutions that enable Ford engineers to design, develop, integrate, and release vehicle programs efficiently. That’s where the Product Development Platform Operations team makes an impact. We build and operate cloud-native platforms and enterprise solutions using Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, automated delivery, and modern DevOps practices.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to support the design, delivery, modernization, and operational success of enterprise applications and services used across Product Development. In this role, you will work closely with product owners, architects, infrastructure teams, software engineers, and business stakeholders to define technical priorities and deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and customer-centered solutions.

This role requires strong technical depth in full stack engineering, cloud technologies, microservices architecture, API development, data integrations, and automated CI/CD delivery. Responsibilities include guiding the end-to-end technical lifecycle of Product Development capabilities—from requirements and solution design through delivery, production support, modernization, and continuous improvement. By combining technical acumen, product thinking, and a customer-centric mindset, you will help modernize core engineering and Product Lifecycle Management capabilities while maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.

Product Strategy & Technical Delivery
  • Partner with product owners, architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define product priorities, technical requirements, roadmaps, and delivery plans
  • Translate business needs, engineering workflows, and platform requirements into clear technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation priorities
  • Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to define application architecture, integration patterns, data models, and technology standards
  • Guide modernization and integration efforts related to Product Lifecycle Management platforms and Product Development engineering capabilities
  • Support the definition and delivery of scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient enterprise applications and services
  • Balance customer needs, technical debt, operational reliability, security requirements, and strategic platform objectives when prioritizing work
Application, Integration & Platform Engineering
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full stack enterprise applications using Java/J2EE and Python
  • Build scalable, secure, and highly available microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform
  • Develop responsive user interfaces and backend services that meet functional, usability, security, and performance requirements
  • Design and implement integrations with enterprise systems, databases, and search platforms, including MongoDB, Oracle, and Elasticsearch
  • Support the development and maintenance of secure, maintainable, and high-performing application architectures
  • Participate in technical design sessions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and Agile planning activities
DevOps, Quality & Operational Excellence
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code quality checks, testing, packaging, deployment, and release processes
  • Apply DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, monitoring, logging, and automated operational support
  • Partner with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise compliance, operational, and security requirements
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective and preventative actions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, API contracts, deployment procedures, and support runbooks
  • Monitor platform and application health, identify performance or reliability risks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to stronger engineering practices, tools, development standards, and team capabilities

We recognize that no one person will embody every single quality or skill listed below. If you are passionate about building and delivering modern technical products and have a strong foundation in cloud-native software engineering, enterprise platforms, and Product Development technology, we encourage you to apply.
