Job summary

Job Juncture seeks a Senior Sealed System Engineer in Illinois to design, develop and implement cooling system solutions for refrigeration products. You will lead cross-functional teams, apply best practices, and drive projects from concept to deployment, expanding technical expertise and supporting company growth.

You will guide NPD/CPI efforts, lead 8D problem solving, and ensure safe, reliable performance through rigorous testing and rigorous data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role.
• Ice maker refrigeration design with system balancing experience.
• Experience with low-GWP refrigerants and safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in NPD, CPI, or feature innovation projects.
• Oversee design, testing, and reviews for refrigeration sealed systems.
• Apply 8D methodology to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Perform thermal analyses and other engineering calculations for cooling systems.
• Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications.
• Conduct testing, analyze data, and evaluate performance and safety.
• Identify improvements and implement design modifications across product lines.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, PMs, and stakeholders to meet goals.
• Keep current with cooling systems trends and innovations.

Job description

As a Senior Sealed System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of cooling system engineering solutions for refrigeration products. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Actively lead and / or participate in project teams focused on New Product Development, Continuous Product Improvement, or Feature Innovation.
• Lead the design, testing, and reviews for refrigeration-based sealed systems across all product lines as a functional expert
• Lead problem solving activities using 8D methodology to identify root cause of issues and oversee development/implementation of a corrective action plan.
• Utilize mathematical and computer-based engineering analyses to design innovative and reliable solutions for cooling systems across many different product types
• Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software and tools
• Conduct testing, collect and analyze data, and interpret test results to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of engineering solutions
• Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose and implement design modifications of existing product lines
• Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements, industry trends, and technological innovations in cooling systems, sealed systems, and refrigerated product designs
• Actively participate in continuous learning and professional development activities, including attending training programs, workshops, and conferences

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

• Ice maker refrigeration design and system balancing experience
• Experience with flammable, low-GWP refrigerants and control system safety.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and concepts as they relate to sealed systems and cooling methods
• Proficiency in thermal simulation software
• Ability to plan and oversee laboratory testing with hands‑on approach to prototype development
• Ability to organize and manage multiple sub‑projects in parallel, or multiple system variants in different stages of a project
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
