Job summary

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Buyer for our Colorado Springs, CO facility on a day shift (M-F 7:30 AM–4:00 PM).

Pay is $24.00–$28.00 per hour plus a bonus, with medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, 401(k) and PTO benefits, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include quoting and placing POs for tooling and equipment, coordinating with global vendors, tracking delivery dates, and basic project and asset management.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ experience in similar purchasing role in a technical industry.
• Professional knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to quickly learn job-specific software packages.
• Experience procuring technical components and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge and understanding of terms and conditions.
• Mechanical print reading skills required.
• Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and people skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Quote and place PO’s for custom tooling, equipment, hardware, and other items with global vendors.
• Communicate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and provide updates to engineering.
• Compile print packages with PDFs and solid models for quoting.
• Review purchasing agreements to ensure terms meet Samtec requirements.
• Ensure equipment is set up with Samtec asset management systems.
• Onboard new equipment through tooling qualification process.
• Coordinate shipping and crating for tooling and equipment.
• Document assets during equipment transfers.
