Job summary

Kaneka Americas Holding, Inc. is seeking a technical support professional focused on emulsion polymerization. You will learn to operate advanced instrumentation (FT-IR, DTA, DSC, TGA, GC, UV) and maintain critical databases for multiple polymer grades.

Responsibilities include lab graft polymerization in 8L reactors, data analysis of latex and powder properties, and daily production monitoring with cross-functional meetings to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years: Emulsion polymerization experience preferred
• 1-2 years: Laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in emulsion polymerization using advanced instrumentation like FT-IR, DTA, DSC, TGA, GC, UV spectroscopy
• Maintain GC database for MA-2 and MA-3 grades for rubber final, batch final latex, and dry powder, updating every 10th lot ending in zero
• Conduct lab graft polymerization in 8L reactors to support optimization of MBS Grades
• Develop database characterizing latex and powder properties (pH, viscosity, VM, ASG, powderD50)
• Monitor daily plant production by maintaining production database and analyzing data to ensure optimal process performance
• Identify trends and deviations in production and suggest improvements based on data
• Ensure material additions for all grades are up-to-date, including %SC, conversion, and total batch size
• Attend daily production meetings and weekly grade separation meetings and follow up on action items

• Provide technical support in areas of emulsion polymerization by learning advanced instrumentation such as FT-IR, DTA, DSC, TGA, GC, and UV spectroscopy.
• Maintain GC database of all grades in MA-2 and MA-3 for rubber final, batch final latex, and dry powder every 10th lot ending in zero.
• Conduct lab graft polymerization in 8L reactors safely to provide support in the optimization of MBS Grades
• Develop extensive database characterizing latex properties (Maron stability, pH, latex viscosity) and powder properties (VM, ASG, powderD50)
• Monitoring daily plant production by maintaining the production database, track process abnormalities and regularly analyze data to ensure optimal process performance.
• Identify trends and deviations in production, and proactively suggest improvements based on data-
• Ensure material additions for all grades are up-to-date, including calculations of %SC, conversion, and total batch size.
• Attend daily production meeting and weekly grade separation meetings and follow-up on action items.
