ASSA ABLOY Door Group in Paramus, NJ seeks a Technical Project Manager to own submittals, shop drawings, and project coordination across a portfolio of door, frame, and hardware solutions. You will manage schedules, coordinate with distributors, contractors, and architects, and resolve issues before they impact timelines.

The role requires 5–7 years in commercial construction with a strong technical background, and experience in doors, frames, hardware, and integrated openings.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in commercial construction, pre-fabricated construction building materials, doors, frames, hardware, demountable walls, project management, or related field
• Strong experience with: Submittal preparation and review; Shop drawings and construction documentation; Project coordination and schedule management
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
• Good business judgment, with the ability to balance customer needs and operational priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and execution of submittal packages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project specifications
• Coordinate and support shop drawing development, ensuring constructability and alignment with field conditions
• Manage and maintain project schedules, proactively identifying risks and driving on-time delivery
• Oversee order coordination, ensuring alignment from approved submittals through production readiness
• Support order entry by collaborating with internal teams to ensure clear handoffs and alignment with milestone dates
• Serve as a technical resource answering questions related to doors, frames, and pre-installed hardware
• Review and interpret architectural drawings, door schedules, and specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Interface with contractors, architects to ensure alignment and clear communication
• Participate in site visits as needed to support field coordination and problem resolution
• Drive process improvements that eliminate inefficiencies and reduce friction in delivery and installation
