Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Spot Op/Electrician for our 2026 season. The role runs Sept 27, 2026 through Nov 8, 2026, with potential extension to Mary Poppins in Portsmouth, NH under a separate contract.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and able to stay focused in a fast-paced setting. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required, including rigging and lift work. Long hours during Tech Weeks are possible.

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Spot Op/Electrician for our 2026 Season Mainstage Production of SMALL TOWN, a World Premiere John Mellencamp Musical.

Dates of employment from September 27, 2026 through November 8, 2026 (End of Season).

Potential extension opportunity to work on Mary Poppins at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH. This would be a separate contract with an end date of Wednesday, December 23, 2026.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

• Startup, checkout, and shutdown procedures for each show (8 shows/week).
• Operate spots while maintaining design integrity of each show.
• Assist the Head Electrician and Asst. Head Electrician with execution of lighting plots.
• Participate in weekly work calls.
• Support with repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional and automated lighting equipment.
• Assist with rehearsals, load-in, strike, tech rehearsals, and previews.
• Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required.
• Unconventional hours may be required. Must be able to work long shifts (over 12 hrs) during Tech Weeks for each production.

Position is a W2, $20/hr plus O/T and housing included.

Ogunquit Playhouse will now be offering Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee+rsquo;s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee's expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse's entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.

SALARY

$20.00 – $20.00 per hour
