Responsibilities

  • Support integration of autonomous platforms, payloads, mission software, C2, data, and communications into operational workflows.
  • Map mission threads, targeting processes, intelligence workflows, interfaces, and dependencies to identify requirements.
  • Coordinate with combatant commands, service components, units, and industry partners.
  • Plan and support demonstrations, experiments, exercises, and test events.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules, action trackers, risk logs, and readiness products.
  • Translate operator needs into technical requirements and priorities.
  • Translate constraints and test results into operator-ready information.
  • Support development of concepts of operation, mission threads, tactics, and fielding recommendations.
  • Capture feedback and convert into prioritized improvements.
  • Support field integration, deployment prep, and on-site coordination during high-tempo events.
  • Prepare concise technical and operational briefings for government and leadership.

Overview

LMI seeks a Technical Operations Specialist to support a Department of War mission partner J3 in integrating autonomous systems into combatant command operations, targeting cycles, kill chains, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance workflows, exercises, and demonstrations. The specialist connects operators, planners, engineers, testers, acquisition personnel, and industry partners to move emerging capabilities from technical concept to operational use. The ideal candidate is a practical integrator who understands mission operations and sustains momentum across complex, multi-organization activities.

This position requires on-site support in Tampa, Florida and an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. The position requires periodic travel to supported commands, operational units, exercises, test events, and industry locations.

Responsibilities
  • Support integration of autonomous platforms, payloads, mission software, command and control, data, and communications into operational workflows.
  • Map mission threads, targeting processes, intelligence workflows, technical interfaces, and organizational dependencies to identify integration requirements and gaps.
  • Coordinate with combatant commands, Military Services, operational units, program offices, test organizations, and industry partners.
  • Plan and support demonstrations, experiments, exercises, technical interchange meetings, test events, and operational assessments.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules, action trackers, decision logs, risk registers, interface lists, and readiness status products.
  • Translate operator needs and mission observations into clear technical requirements, priorities, and follow-on actions.
  • Translate technical constraints, system performance, test results, and integration risks into information usable by operators and planners.
  • Support development and refinement of concepts of operation, mission threads, tactics, techniques, procedures, test plans, and fielding recommendations.
  • Capture user feedback and lessons learned and convert them into prioritized technical and operational improvements.
  • Support field integration, deployment preparation, troubleshooting, and on-site coordination during high-tempo events.
  • Prepare concise technical and operational briefings for government and LMI leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging autonomous capabilities and identify potential applications to current operational problem sets.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, aviation, computer science, systems integration, program management, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in technical operations, systems integration, autonomous systems, uncrewed systems, command and control, test and evaluation, or operational mission support.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Working knowledge of autonomous platforms, mission software, payloads, communications, data, command and control, or related enterprise-to-edge systems.
  • Experience supporting military operations, exercises, experimentation, demonstrations, testing, or capability fielding.
  • Ability to translate between operational users and technical teams and to document clear requirements and action items.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple commands, program offices, vendors, and technical disciplines.
  • Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, meeting facilitation, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and work management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to travel and support field activities in operational and test environments.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting USINDOPACOM, another combatant command, or a Special Operations Forces organization.
  • Experience with targeting, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, fires, sensor-to-shooter workflows, or mission command.
  • Hands-on experience with uncrewed aerial, ground, surface, or subsurface systems and associated control architectures.
  • Project Management Professional, Agile, systems engineering, test and evaluation, or Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 certification.

Target salary range is $152,992.13 - $169,991.25.
