Meridian Labs is hiring its first Technical Operations Manager in Boston to oversee internal operations and support partnerships with AI labs and non-profits. You will manage budgets, tooling, security, and remote/hybrid work, collaborating closely with the CEO.
You’ll automate reporting, streamline vendor and contract processes, and coordinate staff onboarding, travel, and events while ensuring compliance, payroll, and grants support across the organization.
Meridian Labs builds open source tools for evaluating and understanding AI models, including Inspect AI, Inspect Scout, Inspect Petri, and Inspect Flow. These tools are used by AI Security Institutes (AISIs) in the UK, US, EU, Japan, and Korea, and by research organizations such as METR, Apollo Research, Epoch AI, and Redwood Research.
We’re a small 501(c)(3) non-profit, and operations work is currently spread across our technical staff and leadership. We’re hiring our first Technical Operations Manager to take on much of that work. You’ll work directly with our CEO.
The work is split between internal operations and supporting our partnerships. Internally, you’ll make hybrid and remote work go smoothly for the team, keep our finances and systems in order, and use AI agents and scripts to automate reporting and oversight that we do by hand today. Externally, we work closely with AI Security Institutes, AI labs, and other non-profits, and you’ll own the operational side of those relationships: agreements, staff arrangements such as secondments, partner reviews and reporting, and joint visits and events.
If you don’t meet every qualification, we’d still like to hear from you.
Meridian Labs is based in Boston, MA. We prefer in-person or hybrid work in Boston, and we’re open to remote for the right person.
Compensation is $110,000 - $160,000 with benefits, depending on experience.
