About The Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled and versatile Technical Operations Engineer to join our team and support our Space Systems product line. This role is perfect for someone with a general contractor or building engineer background who is experienced in building infrastructure work. You’ll be the go-to person for the hardware aspects of our system, working directly with customers in the field and remotely to ensure seamless integration and operation within government buildings.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide end‑to‑end support for our Space Systems hardware, including setup and configuration.
  • Pre‑configure systems and ensure seamless integration with customer infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues in real‑time, applying analytical thinking and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
  • Follow command‑line instructions to perform necessary hardware configurations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking environments, including Cisco switch/router configurations, VLANs, and routing.
  • Install, configure, and rack servers, switches, and related equipment.
  • Run and terminate Ethernet and fiber optic cabling to industry standards.
  • Test and certify all cabling installations.
  • Coordinate installation of electrical power systems to support Space Systems hardware.
  • Ensure UPS systems, PDUs, and grounding are installed correctly.
  • Work with electricians to align with load requirements and safety standards.
  • Ensure all installations meet local, state, and federal building/electrical codes.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site surveys to plan infrastructure layouts.
  • Act as the point of contact with subcontractors (electricians, low‑voltage installers, general contractors).
  • Schedule and oversee subcontractor work to ensure quality and timelines are met.
  • Provide documentation, as‑built drawings, and project reports.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements for construction and electrical environments.
  • Maintain compliance with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, both low‑voltage and high‑voltage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with customers and team members.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Proficient in working with hands and tools to assemble, repair, and maintain technical hardware in the field.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from start to finish.
  • Proven experience in server installation, cable routing (fiber and Ethernet), and electrical coordination.
  • Hands‑on experience with rack installation, patch panels, and cable management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required): BICSI, CompTIA Server+, OSHA 30, low‑voltage contractor license.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Ability to meet health and medical requirements in advance of deployments in accordance with DFARS 252.225‑7040, DoDI 3020.41, and/or any additional requirements outlined by region or supporting force, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Linux system administration, comfortable following command‑line instructions.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking environments, including Cisco switch/router configurations, VLANs, and routing.
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Military background and active security clearance.
