Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Test Engineer for its Space team to own testing of integrated space systems and flight hardware. You will derive test requirements, execute tests, and report results in a safe environment, including unit-level, bus, and payload testing.

You will develop, maintain and upgrade EGSE/MGSE, work in a cleanroom as needed, and support programs across the Space Business Line with a focus on reliability and mission success.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in electrical, software, aerospace or related field.
• 4+ years with space systems testing, integration and test campaigns.
• Knowledge of space environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC).
• Ability to navigate complex systems and produce documentation.

Anduril’s Space team is dedicated to expanding our AI-powered capabilities into the final frontier, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners. We’re developing fully integrated hardware and software systems, including Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads, to address growing threats in space and ensure our Guardians maintain a decisive advantage in this contested warfighting domain.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Systems Test Engineer for our Space team, you own the testing of integrated space system qualification and flight hardware. You will be responsible for the deriving test requirements, test execution, test reporting, and conducting the tests within a safe manner. You will be responsible for testing at all levels of integration, including unit-level testing, bus testing, testing technology-differentiated payloads, and testing full space vehicle systems. You will also be responsible for the development, maintenance and upgrade of test support hardware, namely Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE). Please note this role will require working in a cleanroom environment at times.

This role is directly tied to ongoing, funded programs within Anduril’s Space Business Line. These programs require building and fielding resilient, software-defined spacecraft systems across numerous mission threads. We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC_._

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead and own the test campaigns for modules, buses, payloads, and full space vehicle systems
• Assist assembly and integration campaigns for space systems flight hardware
• Integrate across numerous teams to collaboratively identify testing requirements to include verification and validation plans
• Develop test plans and procedures for prototype, qualification and acceptance of space systems flight hardware
• Develop and maintain necessary Mechanical and Electrical Ground Support Equipment for space systems hardware
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for space systems hardware
• Develop and maintain test reporting systems for space systems hardware
• Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
• Triage issues, root cause failures, corrective actions and coordinate next-steps

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other equivalent engineering field
• 4+ years of professional experience conducting assembly, integration and test of space systems flight hardware with a focus on complete test coverage and high yield test campaigns
• Deep understanding of industry and government test standards
• Experience with space environmental testing including vibration, thermal vacuum, and electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC)
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements.
• Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
• Clear communication and organizational skills, especially when generating documentation and training materials
• Experience writing technical documentation, procedures, and reports
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Python, MATLAB and/or Linux systems
• A desire to work on critical software in the space domain
• Experience with testing/validation leveraging FlatSats, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testbeds
• Experience working in cleanroom and ESD-safe environments
• Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition electronics
• Experience with RF integration and testing
• Experience with optical systems integration and testing

US Salary Range

$146,000—$194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
