Job summary

Anduril Industries in Washington DC or Boston is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer for our Air Defense team within Deployment Operations. You will execute field operations, perform hardware, software, and networking tasks, and support training and customer field support.

This role requires up to 60% travel, relocation eligibility, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret or Secret clearance. A competitive salary and full benefits are provided.

About the Role

Anduril’s Deployment Operations group seeks a Technical Operations Engineer for our Air Defense team.

Location: Washington, DC or Boston, MA (not eligible for remote/hybrid work).

Responsibilities
  • Support military air defense projects by executing technical operations, conducting field maintenance, providing customer field support and training.
  • Tackle complex issues related to hardware, software, and networking in unstructured situations, driving them to resolution.
  • Communicate field issue status to internal and customer teams, keeping them informed.
  • Support the development and implementation of comprehensive operational and logistical plans for various events.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of air defense systems.
  • Maintain support plans for hardware and software.
  • Assist in event planning and resource allocation, keeping key stakeholders informed about Technical Operations requirements.
  • Conduct incident response root‑cause analyses (RCAs) for defense systems in the field.
  • Perform post‑incident reviews and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of strong problem‑solving experience in unstructured environments at the interface of hardware, software, and networking.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing site infrastructure, including generators, solar power systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to meet health and medical requirements in advance of deployments per DFARS 252.225‑7040, DoDI 3020.41, and other applicable regulations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including CONUS and OCONUS deployments.
  • Eligibility to relocate to Anduril’s Washington DC or Boston office if not already local.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret or Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Network+ and Linux+ or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with fiber and RF systems (point‑to‑point, point‑to‑multipoint, mesh) and basic antenna concepts and spectrum analysis.
  • Experience terminating power cables with NEMA or RJ45 connectors.
  • Ability to lift 50–70 lbs.
  • Prior military or overseas contracting experience.
Salary

U.S. salary range: $146,000 – $194,000 USD. Salary is an estimate and may vary based on experience, education, and other factors. Competitive equity grants and comprehensive benefits are included in full‑time offers.
