Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Technical Operations Engineer to deploy and support air defense products worldwide, working early with engineering teams and coaching colleagues on systems and usage. The role is based in Boston, MA or Washington, DC and not eligible for remote work.

You will tackle hardware, software, and networking challenges in dynamic environments, ensuring high availability and coordinating field operations and customer training.

Qualifications

  • Experience solving problems at the intersection of hardware, software and networking.
  • Ability to relocate to Washington DC or Boston office.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret/Secret clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support Anduril’s products worldwide, early in the product lifecycle.
  • Coach teammates on systems and provide user guidance for product employment and troubleshooting.
  • Advise account managers on technical success and recommend product refinement to engineering.
  • Support military air defense projects with technical operations, field maintenance and customer training.
  • Tackle complex hardware, software, and networking issues in unstructured situations and drive them to resolution.
  • Communicate field issue status to internal and customer teams.
  • Support operation planning and resource allocation for events.
  • Maintain high availability and performance of air defense systems.
  • Maintain support plans for hardware and software.
  • Conduct incident response root‑cause analyses and post‑incident reviews.

Overview

Anduril’s Deployment Operations group is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join our Air Defense team. This is a Washington, DC or Boston, MA based role and not eligible for remote/hybrid work.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy and support Anduril’s products worldwide, working early in the product lifecycle with engineering teams.
  • Coach teammates on systems and provide user guidance for product employment and troubleshooting.
  • Advise account managers on technical success and recommend product refinement to engineering.
  • Support military air defense projects by executing technical operations, conducting field maintenance, providing customer field support and training.
  • Tackle complex hardware, software, and networking issues in unstructured situations, driving them to resolution.
  • Communicate field issue status to internal and customer teams.
  • Support development and implementation of operational and logistical plans for events.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of air defense systems.
  • Maintain support plans for hardware and software.
  • Assist in event planning and resource allocation, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Conduct incident response root‑cause analyses and post‑incident reviews, implementing preventive measures.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience solving problems in unstructured environments at the intersection of hardware, software, and networking.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair critical site infrastructure, including generators, solar power systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to meet health and medical requirements for deployments per DFARS 252.225‑7040, DoDI 3020.41, or other regional requirements.
  • Ability to travel for customer operations or reactive maintenance on short notice (up to 60% CONUS/OCONUS travel).
  • Ability to relocate to Washington DC or Boston office if not already local.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret/Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
  • Network+ and Linux+ or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Fiber and RF systems (PtP, PtMP, mesh), basic antenna concepts, and spectrum analysis.
  • Experience terminating power cables with NEMA or RJ45 connectors.
  • Ability to lift 50‑70 lbs.
  • Prior military or overseas contracting experience.
Salary and Benefits
  • US Salary Range: $146,000 – $194,000 USD (base salary only; actual offer may vary).
