Job Description

The Technical MongoDB Lead (Expert) is responsible for designing and implementing database administration and management solutions. The individual manages software releases, minimizes incident and problem impacts to the enterprise, and implements new solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert and guide others in resolving complex incidents and problems.
  • Lead architecture discussions on design, data integration, recoverability, and resiliency; engage with users on large database designs.
  • Analyze complex queries, tuning, and performance of subsystems, CPU, IO, and memory.
  • Research technologies that enhance database resiliency and recovery.
  • Create operational agreements with infrastructure support teams.
  • Design database maintenance and upgrade processes; support incident and problem management.
  • Develop and deliver training on complex topics, including roadshows and client sessions.

Education

4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience

7+ years in:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure MongoDB databases, including MongoDB Atlas.
  • Ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Deploying and managing databases on AWS and Azure.
  • Using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Developing Python scripts for automation.
  • Implementing monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Mentoring team members.

Skills

Proficiency in AWS, ATLAS.ti, Database Administration, Design, Management Systems, Performance, Data Modeling, IT Leadership, Microsoft Azure, MongoDB, Python, Scripting, Terraform.

Additional Information

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
