Job summary

WTVY News 4 in Dothan, Alabama, is seeking a skilled News Technician to join our fast-paced team. You will direct newscasts, monitor signals, and manage on-air content using our automation and Master Control systems.

The role includes equipment care and occasional studio duties, with opportunities to work on HD video production projects. The ideal candidate is creative, detail oriented, and able to multitask under deadlines.

Qualifications

Creative and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment under pressure.
Team player, and capable of working independently.
Flexible to work mornings, nights, weekends, travel, and changing schedules.
Able to sit/stand for extended periods; climb ladders; lift 30+ pounds.
Computer literacy is required.
Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling.
TV experience preferred but not required.
Experience with HD video production and related tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Direct newscast with our automation system.
Monitor on-air signals, ingest programming and commercials, and operate Master Control.
Maintain and care for equipment and studio, including lighting, cameras, and sets.
Occasional teleprompter operation, floor directing, and other duties as assigned.
