Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Technical Manager at Leckford Estate, Waitrose Farm, to lead all Quality & Technical activities and ensure adherence to Assurance Schemes and statutory regulations. You will oversee QMS development, safety, and compliance across operations.

The role emphasizes supplier and customer performance, brand integrity, and delivering technical projects to improve operational practices at Leckford Farm Estate. A relevant degree and strong experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in food science (or equivalent) or equivalent experience in Technical within the Food & Grocery industry.
• Technical/manufacturing experience in the food industry.
• Demonstrated supplier management and technical development.
• Passion for product and quality.
• Valid driving licence.
• Specialist training in allergens, microbiology, pesticide management, spec management, and product labelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Quality & Technical activities to ensure Leckford Estate, the Waitrose Farm, produces and retails food that adheres to all appropriate Assurance Schemes, meets all statutory regulations & complies with Waitrose Technical policies.
• Lead QMS Technical Management and Development ensuring safety & compliance at all times.
• Manage relevant product, supplier & customer performance to ensure compliance to Waitrose quality, safety, legality and integrity, and to meet Brand standards & Commercial targets.
• Deliver technical compliance projects to continuously improve ways of working at the Leckford Farm Estate.

• All Quality & Technical activities to ensure Leckford Estate, the Waitrose Farm, produces and retails food that adheres to all appropriate Assurance Schemes, meets all statutory regulations & complies with Waitrose Technical policies.
• Leckford Estate, the Waitrose Farm QMS Technical Management and Development ensuring safety & compliance at all times.
• Relevant product, supplier & customer performance & relationships in order to ensure compliance to Waitrose quality, safety, legality and integrity, all relevant Brand standards & Commercial targets

• Salary - £57,000 - £84,600
• Contract type - This is a Permanent contract.
• Working pattern/flexible working - 35 hours per week. The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business.
• Location - Leckford Farm approximately 3 days a week and our Bracknell Head Office when required.
