Job summary

Stantec’s New York City office is seeking a motivated Technical Lead to support our infrastructure practice and lead project delivery across the NYC metro area. You’ll work with a collaborative team of engineers and project managers on building, transit, and rehabilitation projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading design teams and delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design criteria, standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to supervise multi-disciplinary engineering work and provide constructability input.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of design deliverables ensuring compliance with design criteria, standards and specifications.
  • Provide oversight and technical overview of designs, advise on constructability, and serve as Technical Lead or Engineer-of-Record for transportation, buildings, schools, and commercial structures.
  • Monitor progress against design milestones to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, sharing knowledge and guiding professional development.
  • Lead preparation of construction documents in accordance with agency standards.
  • Resolve complex technical problems and exercise independent decision making.
  • Review and approve construction documents and provide design support during construction activities (Shop Drawings, RFIs, field changes, as-builts).
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines (highway, traffic, geotechnical, drainage, lighting).
  • Provide QA/QC oversight, monitor the work of structural engineers and ensure technical excellence.
  • Lead client development initiatives, coordination including deliverables, submittals, meetings, and review comments.

In this role, you’ll work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of engineers, and Project Managers to support our building, transit and rehabilitation projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
