Technical Security Lead, Security Platforms (VP)

State Street is seeking a Technical Security Lead for our Security Platforms team, part of the State Street Cyber Fusion Center. This team designs, manages, and supports the security tools that enable security operations across State Street, including threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and other key functions.

Locations: United States – Massachusetts, Quincy or Boston.

Responsibilities

• Drive key projects and initiatives to improve current capabilities, drive operational adoption, and prepare for future growth.
• Design, configure, and manage the key security tools supporting our Cyber Fusion Center colleagues.
• Guide key projects and initiatives.
• Work directly with stakeholders and business units to define requirements and develop security solutions.
• Work with vendors to implement new or additional capabilities in security platforms.
• Partner within the Cyber Fusion Center to ensure security platforms meet operational needs, including threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, and insider investigations.
• Own reliability, availability, and performance of specific platforms, working with vendors and stakeholders to ensure platform health.

Qualifications

• Extensive security knowledge with specific expertise in Endpoint Detection and Response and Security Automation tooling.
• Experience in a 24/7 security operations environment emphasizing reliability and system availability.
• Understanding of current security threats and challenges, and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Collaborative approach to solving technical challenges and improving security.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and program management skills, and commitment to ensuring timely and accurate communications.
• Strong personal work ethic with excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure.
• Track record of succeeding in distributed, international teams.
• 7+ years of relevant security experience.
• Direct experience with incident response, threat detection, and relevant open source or commercial tools.
• Degree not required; a qualification in information security or information systems may be beneficial.
• Experience with scripting, system integration, or light development would be beneficial.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, or relevant product certifications may be beneficial.
• Experience in financial services or leading technical teams may be beneficial.

Additional Requirements

• Role will be filled in United States – Massachusetts, Quincy or Boston.
• Participation in an on‑call rotation is required.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $202,500 Annual
