Job summary

Kastle is building the AI employee for banks, leading real-time AI voice and compliance workflows in bank environments. The Technical Lead will own system architecture, stay hands-on, and guide a growing team of engineers toward reliable, scalable solutions.

In a player-coach role, you’ll divide time between coding, system design, mentoring, and collaboration with product and customers to deliver impactful features quickly while maintaining security and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building high-performance, real-time backend systems (Python-focused).
• 2+ years leading engineers as tech lead or manager with shipping large systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Excellent database design and performance optimization skills.
• Hands-on experience running production workloads on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain trade-offs to engineers and executives.
• Bias for ownership and ability to navigate high-velocity environments.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for core platform powering real-time AI voice and compliance workflows.
• Lead and grow the engineering team; mentor engineers; conduct design and code reviews.
• Push performance boundaries; maintain sub-700ms voice latency with event-driven architecture.
• Run reliable, scalable systems on Kubernetes and distributed subsystems with observability and on-call practices.
• Build a self-improving AI system with feedback loops from customer interactions and human review.
• Ship projects from whiteboard to live production in bank environments with security and compliance.
• Partner with product, forward-deployed engineers, and customers to translate lender workflows into technical roadmaps.
