Job summary

3Pillar is seeking a senior full stack engineer to guide the technical direction across teams, modernize legacy .NET apps, and build RESTful APIs. You will work with C#, .NET, Angular, and Node.js to deliver secure, scalable software for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Full Stack Engineer with C#/ .NET
• Experience modernizing legacy .NET Framework apps into APIs/services
• Proven RESTful API design and security practices (OWASP)
• Experience with WinForms/WPF and cloud-native apps (AWS/Azure)
• Strong OOP, architectural pattern knowledge, UML/C4/ArchiMate
• Node.js and Angular development and Angular upgrades
• Experience with Dynamics ERP/payroll integration is a plus
• Strong collaboration with product/design/engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Guide technical direction and implementation across the team from concept to deployment
• Evaluate trade-offs for correctness, performance, and customer impact
• Lead documentation and repository practices (branches, PRs, merges)
• Mentor engineers and participate in Communities of Practice
• Contribute to code reviews with focus on security, performance, reliability

Key Responsibilities

• Independently guide the technical direction and implementation by the whole team within defined architecture in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.
• Evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to ensure the development of the right solution, with client success at the forefront.
• Create and lead the team's technical documentation and repository management practices, including tasks such as creating branches, pull requests, merges, etc.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to provide necessary oversight of architecture and dependencies influencing product strategy and direction.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and addressing complex bug fixes with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
• Be an active leader in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring Senior Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, supporting the growth of technical capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 7+ years of experience/expertise working as a Full Stack Engineer, with proficiency in the specified technologies.
• C#
• .NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core / modern .NET), ASP.NET Core Web API, relational databases and SQL, with front-end experience in Angular.
• Proven experience leading the modernization of legacy .NET Framework applications, including extracting business logic into APIs or services and incremental migration strategies such as the strangler pattern.
• Expertise in applying object-oriented programming, with preferred experience in languages like C#.
• Experience with .NET desktop applications (WinForms/WPF).
• Experience building Cloud Native applications and leading the migration of desktop and on-premises applications to the cloud (AWS and Azure).
• Very good knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns, SOLID principles and OWASP.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• High-level design proficiency following UML / C4 / ArchiMate.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Angular, including upgrading Angular applications across versions.
• Experience integrating with Microsoft Dynamics (ERP and/or payroll).
• Experience leading Agile software development methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience following and adapting high-level architecture to project and client needs.
• Ability to verify/validate architecture implementations and influence overall architecture beyond the team.
• Experience in effectively working collaboratively among relevant information stakeholders to create and implement well-tested, scalable, secure, and performant enterprise-level systems that ultimately deliver the client’s desired business outcome.
• Demonstrated initiative in mentoring other engineers and decision-makers throughout the organization.
• High level of English proficiency required to interact with a globally-based development team.

Additional Experience Desired

• Experience designing or introducing a business rules engine, or centralizing business rules shared across multiple applications.
• Domain experience in billing, claims processing, or payroll systems, ideally in healthcare or home care.
• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience defining testing strategy and standards, including unit testing (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, MSTest).
• Experience evaluating and replacing legacy line-of-business systems, including build-versus-buy analysis.
• Experience assessing technology stack standardization options and presenting trade-offs to leadership.
• Ability to refine and clarify technical details (including definition of done) based on internal or external PO for User Stories and task assignments.
• Ability to provide technical orchestration among the overall tasks.
• Ability to set technical strategy and direct implementation across several teams/whole product.
