Job summary

Paperless Parts is seeking a Technical Lead to helm a new engineering pod focused on manufacturing intelligence. You will translate advanced ML research into production-grade training pipelines and inference services, while guiding the end‑to‑end ML lifecycle from data labeling to model deployment.

You will mentor early‑career ML engineers, collaborate with researchers and other pods, and shape decisions on frontier vs deterministic solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of R&D experience in SaaS or related field.
• Strong grounding in ML/DL theory and mathematics.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead early-career engineers.
• Experience with cloud-native ML pipelines and tools like SageMaker.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive the AI/ML pod backlog with product and research teams.
• Prototype novel solutions and transition proofs‑of‑concept to production services.
• Operationalize ML infrastructure for labeling, training, and deployment.
• Define benchmarks and metrics to guide data-driven tech decisions.
• Mentor the pod and foster a rigorous engineering culture.
