Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for the XR team to lead the AI Glasses microXR connectivity group. You will guide architecture, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team collaboration on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi integration across devices.

The role involves managing multiple teams and a significant product budget, shaping system designs, and delivering end-to-end connectivity solutions for glasses and phones, with emphasis on latency and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development in consumer electronics or embedded systems.
• 3 years in technical leadership with 2 years in people management.
• Experience with Android, Bluetooth, WiFi and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI Glasses microXR connectivity team for audio and display glasses.
• Architect, guide, and vet XR OS connectivity designs (Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi) and write code.
• Communicate and document decisions through architecture/design docs and code.
• Mentor team members on design techniques, coding standards, debugging complex systems.
• Review code and drive efficiency and workflow improvements.
