Technical Lead: Forward Deployed Engineering Lead

Calling all seasoned full-stack engineering leads who crave pushing boundaries and building the future!

Our innovative platform empowers people and AI to work together, transforming learning, decision-making, and problem-solving across various industries. We are on the hunt for a forward-thinking full stack developer leader to join our remote (U.S. based) team. Proximity to Seattle, WA or Boulder, CO is preferable.

In this role, you'll be:

• A master of modern tech: Python, Rust, TypeScript, or C++ are your weapons of choice. You'll leverage a modern tech stack to craft efficient and maintainable code. You understand the 'why' behind framework selection and can explain the rationale behind your choices.
• Can go beyond the typical: You can grasp expertise in specialized technologies like orchestration and simulation, beyond standard software development solutions.
• A database whisperer: You possess a strong understanding of database fundamentals and can identify the right database solution for various problems.
• An architect: You grasp the power of middle-tier API constructs and understand the importance of disassociating the frontend from the backend.
• A containerization champion: Your knowledge of Docker containers, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and the benefits of containerization for development and deployment is a major asset.

We're seeking a seasoned professional who:

• Is comfortable in front of the customer: You will spend time with customers understanding their needs and creatively solving problems.
• Lead a small team of engineers: Depending on the customer engagement, the team will be a few engineers working closely with product managers.
• Delegation and Oversight: Skills to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of technical quality.
• Solves problems creatively: You can approach problems creatively and develop effective solutions.
• Has a proven track record of leading the design and architecture of new and existing systems: Your portfolio should showcase innovative solutions.
• Embraces a cutting-edge tech stack: Experience with Python, Rust, TypeScript, or C++ is essential.
• Collaborates effectively: You'll work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers in a remote environment.
• Communicates clearly: You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Throughout your journey at Otonoma, you'll:

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in a modern programming language (Rust, TypeScript, Python, Go or C++).
• Experience with GitHub actions, builds, and release artifacts.
• Proficiency with various database technologies including SQL and NoSQL frameworks.
• Proficiency in English and the ability to interface with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• Understanding of simulation environments, ideally NVIDIA's Omniverse.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Ability to travel to customer sites will be important.
