Job summary

Employee Relations Associates, Inc. seeks an experienced Technical Lead to drive design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-native apps for enterprise environments.

You will lead hands-on teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality solutions. The role requires deep expertise in Node.js, NestJS, MongoDB, and AWS, with experience building microservices and REST APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12–15 years of software development experience.
• 2–4 years in a Technical Lead or Lead Engineer role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and MongoDB.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and Microservices Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies.
• Familiarity with API Gateway, serverless architectures, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of Git, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of application security principles and API best practices.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI tools and AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade applications using Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and MongoDB.
• Design and develop scalable REST APIs and microservices following modern architectural best practices.
• Build and optimize MongoDB schemas, data models, and database performance.
• Develop cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services.
• Design scalable data models, data mapping, and integration solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design sessions, code reviews, and effort estimations.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Mentor engineers, promote coding standards, and champion engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive continuous improvements.
• Contribute to AI-assisted software development initiatives using modern Generative AI technologies and development tools.
