Job summary

Niyam IT, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to support a federal client in Ashburn, VA. The role combines full‑stack leadership with AI/ML integration, guiding modern web and mobile applications, and ensuring secure, scalable delivery in a hybrid work setting.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture decisions, and coordinate with security, product, and operations teams to meet critical mission objectives and delivery milestones.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation.
• 10+ years of professional full stack software development experience across frontend, backend, and API layers.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule 3-4 days/week in Ashburn, VA.
• Demonstrated experience with two or more of the listed technologies (Flutter, Angular, Spring Boot, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Dart, Swift, Android, iOS).
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications (chatbots, virtual assistants, AI-powered search).
• Familiarity with federal software delivery standards, DevSecOps practices, and IT security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead end-to-end solution architecture.
• Establish architectural principles, standards, and guardrails.
• Lead design, integration strategies, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across the SDLC and review critical components.
• Lead AI/ML integration including chatbots, AI-powered search, and accessibility features.
• Translate requirements into scalable, incremental solutions and manage backlogs.
• Guide Agile delivery with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and security/ops teams.
• Ensure security, performance, and non-functional requirements are met.
• Promote CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated testing across projects.
• Mentor developers and communicate decisions to stakeholders.
• Support production readiness, deployment activities, and incident troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement in architecture, code quality, and delivery processes.
