Job summary

Nexaminds is seeking an experienced backend tech lead in Cincinnati, OH to drive architectural decisions and mentor senior engineers. You will design scalable microservices, secure data pipelines, and AI-integrated backend systems using Java, Python, and Google Cloud Platform.

You will champion modern tooling, ensure secure coding practices, and collaborate closely with product, data science, and security teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable technology solutions.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of backend software engineering experience with 1–2+ years in team leadership and architectural decisions.
• Deep backend expertise in Java and Python.
• Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architectures.
• Experience designing data pipelines and integrating LLMs/AI components.
• Proactive application security mindset and remediation guidance.
• Exceptional communication to align product, data science and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural guidance and design reviews as the engineering tech lead.
• Oversee deployment of scalable, secure microservices and data pipelines using Java, Python, and GCP.
• Establish coding and CI/CD practices, leveraging GitHub Copilot to improve delivery while maintaining quality.
• Own application security posture by identifying vulnerabilities and prioritizing technical debt.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate complex business logic into scalable solutions.
