Adobe Experience Manager Tech Lead

Comerica's Digital Engineering organization is looking to add a Technical Engineering Lead for the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) team. You will lead and mentor a team of AEM developers by providing technical guidance, assistance with code reviews, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure adherence to AEM development standards, security guidelines, and performance optimization techniques. You will provide engineering and architecture support for complex system management activities related to Adobe Experience Manager by collaborating with business analysts, content authors, designers, and project managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The Tech Lead will provide technical input to management decision-making by participating in code deployments to ensure smooth and efficient releases. This role operates in a fast-paced, agile team and may also integrate solutions or build via DevOps depending on the maturity of the organization and/or product.

Ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Architect and design robust and scalable AEM solutions based on business requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and implement AEM components, templates, workflows, dialogs, and OSGi services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the AEM platform.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AEM features, updates, and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Manage and configure AEM environments, including author, publish, and dispatcher instances.
  • Implement and maintain integrations between AEM and other enterprise systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in AEM development processes and methodologies.

Position Responsibilities:

Design and Methodology
  • Work closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure areas, and vendors to identify, review, and evaluate solution requirements.
  • Investigate and propose strategic fits for virtualization, consolidation, and rationalization solution opportunities within the infrastructure or business. Propose changes to the technical architecture and design solutions as applicable.
  • Evaluate and align strategic fit solutions across infrastructure platforms and solutions specific to system hardware and software technologies.
  • Understand, participate, review, and influence long-term capacity planning and technology investments.
Technical Consulting
  • Provide client consulting and planning guidance for moderate to large highly complex projects/programs.
  • Work closely with other functional infrastructure areas/departments on initiatives to meet organizational/business goals.
  • Participate in and provide consulting to project teams on architectural, design development, and integration opportunities, ensuring alignment with established strategies and principles.
Planning and Organizing
  • Identify and evaluate projects/programs/initiatives, and design processes to enhance existing and upcoming solutions.
  • Map requirements into standard service solutions, identify opportunities for integration or reuse, and provide cost-effective solutions for complex projects.
  • Review, identify, and manage requirements, conducting cost, feasibility, and risk analyses.
Risk Management
  • Review, participate, develop, and update architectural standards, guiding principles, and strategies.
  • Evaluate, review, and approve highly complex design solutions for business and infrastructure projects or initiatives.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience (12+ years in technology).
  • 6 years of experience in identifying technical solutions for complex business problems.
  • 5 years of experience in negotiating and designing complex solutions.
  • Experience in Math, Science, or Technology for at least 5 years.
  • 5 years of experience managing complex, critical technology projects.
  • Mentoring experience with other technologists.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Must have indefinite employment authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification(s) and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • AEM Certified Developer (Sites) and/or AEM Certified Architect (Sites).
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with AEM on-premise maintenance.
  • Experience with Java, jQuery, and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Experience in writing and consuming REST APIs.
