Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and technical tasks in the clinical laboratory, including specimen accessioning, processing, support functions, and inventory management.
• Load specimens on automated lines, perform storage and retrieval, and ensure specimen quality.
• Answer pneumatic tube system calls, log specimens, and ensure proper labeling and identification.
• Distribute specimens within the lab, perform clerical duties, investigate issues, and manage lab supplies.
• Prepare and label slides, perform waived tests, calibrate analyzers, and conduct quality control.
• Follow guidelines for testing, triage STAT and time-sensitive tests, and dispose of biohazardous materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospital lab experience preferred.
• Basic clerical skills, computer literacy, and medical terminology knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Excellent customer service, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
