The New York City Department of Investigation is seeking a Technical Investigator to support the Law Enforcement Technology Unit. The role involves field deployments, surveillance equipment operation, and assisting with lawful electronic surveillance under court orders.

You will help capture audio, video and data, troubleshoot systems, and maintain evidence rooms. The ideal candidate has a strong background in investigation, is prepared to testify in court, and may work non-traditional hours.

Formación

• Four-year high school diploma and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in investigation or related field.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above.

Responsabilidades

• Deploy field operations and operate surveillance equipment for investigations.
• Assist with lawful electronic surveillance in compliance with court orders.
• Support audio, video and data capture operations; troubleshoot and maintain technical systems.
• Prepare detailed reports; manage property and evidence; cross-train in digital forensics.
• Testify in court as needed; may work non-traditional hours.
