Play a key role in operational improvement within Amazon Web Services, where we have a history and tradition of innovative technologies and services. As part of the Networking Procurement team, you will have the opportunity to join a team that partners across the global AWS Infrastructure organization to shape the future of the AWS profile and tempo to which we deliver.

The Networking Procurement team is seeking a highly-skilled & driven Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) who will help drive the team toward our mission of building durable and reliable data-informed processes within AWS Infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience managing global Infrastructure projects/programs; developing, monitoring, and reporting project/program health metrics; depth of knowledge in supply chain; experience with external suppliers; and driving improvement. As a TIPM within this team focused on fiber cable sourcing, you will be responsible for organizing and managing continuous improvement and process initiatives and play a significant role in developing, driving and managing scalable, data-driven processes.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of implementing continuous improvement plans, managing supplier performance, and working with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Develop new concepts and operating models to deliver impactful changes in sourcing, delivering best in class business models
  • Work with a range of stakeholders including supply chain, operations, engineering, and suppliers to drive supply profiles and to support on-time material availability.
  • Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs needed.

  • End to end responsibility for the program’s execution and success.
  • Analyze business and technology trends to identify process improvement opportunities, reduce costs, and minimize risks for AWS and its customers.
  • Evaluate and monitor performance of suppliers
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture, and follow-up activity coordination.
A day in the life

As a TIPM, you work closely with key stakeholders across various partner organizations, external manufacturers, and your team to develop and implement strategic initiatives and solutions. You will participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of successful large-scale programs and initiatives. You will define metrics and create success criteria allowing data to drive key business decisions and process improvements. You will participate in the definition of secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. You define mechanisms that help your team deliver results for customers and raise the operational bar.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience
  • Experience working with outsource/third party Vendors

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
