Job summary

BlueHalo is seeking a Technical Illustrator I to provide technical illustrations and graphic layouts for product documentation. You will create infographics and exploded views, prepare 3D CAD models, and maintain brand consistency under tight deadlines.

You should have an Associate’s degree in graphic design or CAD and 2–4 years of design/drafter experience, with strong skills in SolidWorks, KeyShot, and the Adobe suite. This hybrid role requires occasional after-hours support for proposals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in graphic design, CAD or equivalent.
• 2-4 years experience as Design/Drafter, Technical Illustrator or Graphic Designer.
• Engineering drawing print reading skills in imperial and metric.
• Understanding of BOMs and materials specifications.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD, EDPM/vault, SolidWorks Visualize, Composer, KeyShot 10, and MS Office.
• Excellent photography and digital photo manipulation skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Able to work under deadlines with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Create infographics and technical illustrations for customer documentation.
• Alter existing assets for manuals, QRGs, CDRLs, and design reviews.
• Generate orthographic angles for components and systems.
• Create exploded assembly views.
• Produce simplified graphics from complex concepts.
• Prepare 3D CAD models in .obj, .step, .sldprt, .fbx, .iges, .stl formats.
• Export graphics with version control and maintain repository.
• Help maintain central graphics repository and ensure brand consistency.
• Occasional night/weekend support to meet proposals.
