Advanced Plating Technologies in Milwaukee, WI seeks an Estimating Engineer to perform process/part modeling and material and labor usage calculations for metal finishing projects from cradle to production.
You will review quotes, blueprints and specifications, discuss tooling and flow with engineers and production managers, enter pricing into ERP, and provide follow-up with customers on quotes. A BS in engineering, math, finance, accounting or business and advanced MS Excel skills are required.

The estimating engineer provides process/part modeling as well as material & labor usage calculation of metal finishing processes. The position entails cradle to grave estimating support to the realization of new products within a technically oriented metal finishing facility.
The estimating engineer will be required to:
The well qualified candidate should have a BS in engineering, math, finance, accounting or business. The candidate should have advanced knowledge and mastery of MS Excel. No engineering or sales experience is required. A background in accounting and finance would be preferred.
Highly organized, detail oriented with motivation for sales‑focused engineering and process support. Excellent written and good verbal communicator in a customer service role. Energetic and outgoing self‑starter that possesses the ability to work with minimal supervision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit the majority of the day and walk distances of up to 100 meters between buildings out of doors. The employee will spend extensive time computing and talking on the telephone. The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a climate controlled, office environment approximately 80% of the time. Up to 20% of the work can be completed remotely using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The balance of time will be in a metal finishing manufacturing environment around metal finishing processes and equipment.
