Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Technical Editor/Writer for its Software Business Area in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on developing installation material and related technical publications, communicating complex specifications clearly to diverse audiences.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in editing/writing with a Bachelor’s, with higher levels requiring more experience and a Secret clearance. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe tools, and Agile/SAFe methods is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as Technical Editor/Writer with a Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years as Technical Editor/Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree acceptable
• 8+ years as Technical Editor/Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree advantageous
• Experience with military technical documents and training materials
• Active Secret Security Clearance required

Responsibilities

• Develop software installation material and documentation
• Interview product developers to acquire subject knowledge and translate it into publications
• Explain technical specifications to a wide range of audiences
• Reference engineering drawings, trade journals and standards to ensure accuracy
