Job summary

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati is seeking a Technical Director to lead the scene shop and scenic operations for four MainStage productions and multiple tours each year.

You will collaborate with scenic designers, read drafts, and ensure safety and feasibility within budget. The role requires overseeing shop spaces, coordinating with ATD and Shop Foreman, and maintaining equipment across venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in a related field.
• Experience leading technical teams in theatre productions.
• Strong knowledge of scenic construction, paint, lighting, sound and AV systems.

Responsibilities

• Create digital technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD or Vectorworks.
• Approve scenic designs for safety, compatibility, feasibility, budget, and scheduling.
• Oversee scenic build, carpentry and paint for all productions.
• Manage budgets and inventory for the scene shop and equipment.
