Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Technical Director - Biocompatibility to lead PSL's medical device biocompatibility business, serving as senior scientific authority in biological evaluation and regulatory science.

The role collaborates with study directors, management, business development, and executive leadership to grow services, mentor staff, engage clients, and represent PSL at industry events; remote work possible with travel to PSL sites and client locations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biology, toxicology, biomedical engineering, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in medical device biocompatibility or related field; 15+ preferred.
• Recognized biocompatibility expert in the medical device industry.
• Familiarity with ISO 10993, FDA guidance, EU MDR, ISO 17025, and GLP.
• Ability to develop and communicate biological evaluation strategies.
• Strong publications or standards involvement in the field.
• Experience supporting business growth via technical consultation and client engagement.
• Willingness to travel and ability to work in a remote leadership role.
• Tetanic vaccination current.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific, strategic, and commercial leadership for PSL's biocompatibility business.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with study directors, lab management, and business development.
• Represent PSL in client engagements, scientific presentations, and industry activities.
• Collaborate with Eurofins Medical Device teams across North America and Europe.
• Travel to PSL sites, client sites, and industry conferences as required.
