Role Description

The Technical Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Amarillo, TX, responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of worship services and events at Messiah’s House Church. This role manages audio, video, lighting, and live-streaming systems to ensure high-quality, reliable experiences for in-person and online attendees. The Technical Director leads and schedules production teams, provides training, and fosters a collaborative environment that supports the church’s mission and values. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing technical elements for services, maintaining and upgrading equipment, troubleshooting issues in real time, and coordinating with pastoral, worship, and communications teams. The role also involves evaluating new technologies, implementing best practices, and developing processes that enhance the church’s technical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in team management and team leadership, with the ability to mentor, train, and coordinate production teams.
• Proficiency in project management, including planning, scheduling, and executing technical components of services, events, and initiatives.
• Background in research and development (R&D) and software development or strong familiarity with church production software, media systems, and related tools.
• Strong technical skills in audio, video, lighting, and live-streaming systems, including operation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with ministry leaders and creative teams.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to perform under time-sensitive, live-production conditions.
• Commitment to the mission, beliefs, and worship culture of Messiah’s House Church, with a willingness to serve and lead in a ministry environment.
• Previous experience in church, nonprofit, or live-event production settings is strongly preferred; relevant technical certifications or a degree in a related field is a plus.
