Job summary

Rose International recruits for a Technical Designer role in Women's Intimates & Shapewear. The position requires onsite presence near Manhattan, NY, with 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate will execute the technical design process from development to final fit, analyze garments, develop fit specifications, and communicate with vendors. 5+ years in intimates/apparel, PLM proficiency, and a strong portfolio are required.

***Only qualified Technical Designer - Women's Intimates & Shapewear candidates located near Manhattan, NY to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence. ***

Our client is the world's largest intimates' specialty retailer offering a wide assortment of modern, fashion-inspired collections including signature bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim and athleisure, as well as award-winning prestige fragrances and body care.

Work Hours: 40 hours, working 4-5 days a week. Must be willing to come ONSITE!!

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.

Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• 5+ years’ of experience in technical design with intimates/apparel
• Flexible, problem solver, supportive, with the ability to maintain composure in a stressful situation.
• Must have participated or owned their own fittings and can write up fit comments & pattern correction.
• PLM experience or training (Centric preferred).
• Must be proficient with Excel/Illustrator/Flex PLM etc.
• Must have portfolio/tech pack which includes examples of detailed fit comment.

Role

Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
• Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
• Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
• Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
• Typically reports to Technical Services Manager. Typically directs Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.
