Job description

ThreadBeast is a men's subscription menswear service with 30,000+ active subscribers. We deliver curated streetwear and contemporary menswear to a 19-35 male audience with a street‑skate aesthetic at the core. Our design and merchandising team works at a high cadence, producing 90+ SKUs quarterly across cut‑and‑sew, knits, wovens, denim, and outerwear.

The Role

We are hiring a Technical Designer to partner with our existing Technical Designer and split the deliverables required for quarterly tech pack development. This role reports directly to the Creative Director (luxury fashion industry background) and works alongside other Merchandising team members for the full product development cycle.

This is a high‑output role. If you thrive on volume, structured cadence, and seeing your tech packs become real products in retail and subscription boxes within 90 days, you will do well here. If you prefer a slow, single‑collection rhythm, this is not the right fit.

What You'll Own
Quarterly Cadence (per season)
  • Receive creative brief from Creative Director during quarterly kickoff
  • Build digital flats for your share of 90+ SKUs in Adobe Illustrator
  • Present digital flats alongside Eman to Creative Director for review and approval
  • Develop full tech packs: construction details, points of measure, grading specs, trim sheets, BOM, and construction callouts
  • Manage tech pack revisions through fit sessions and sample rounds
  • Communicate directly with overseas factories on technical questions, construction clarifications, and revision rounds
  • Track samples through development and maintain accurate tech pack versioning
Ongoing
  • Lead fit sessions on received samples
  • Document fit corrections and translate them into clear tech pack revisions
  • Maintain construction libraries and standardized callouts across the line
Required
  • 3-5 years of technical design experience in menswear or unisex apparel
  • Proven experience producing tech packs at volume for a contemporary, streetwear, or mass‑market brand (Gap, Vans, Pacsun, Stussy, Pleasures, ESSENTIALS, or similar caliber)
  • Expert‑level Adobe Illustrator (digital flats, callouts, construction drawings)
  • Strong fluency in Excel and Google Sheets for spec sheets and BOM management
  • Deep knowledge of cut‑and‑sew, knits, wovens, denim, and outerwear construction
  • Experience working directly with overseas factories (Asia, Turkey, or similar)
  • Ability to manage 50+ SKUs through full development cycle simultaneously without dropping detail
Strong Plus
  • PLM system experience
  • Background in skate, streetwear, or LA contemporary menswear
  • Existing factory relationships in Asia or Turkey
The Working Environment (Read This)

ThreadBeast operates out of a full team facility in Vernon. The environment is hands‑on, fast, and unpolished, not a corporate design studio. We are actively investing in the workspace, and your design area will be properly set up with the tools and equipment you need to do focused work, including a dedicated workstation, proper monitor setup, and a clean design area.

If you have worked in LA streetwear or independent menswear, the energy will feel familiar. If you are coming from a corporate environment, we want to be upfront about the tradeoff: you will trade polish for autonomy, speed, and the ability to see your work hit the market in 90 days.

Schedule
  • Monday – Thursday in‑office (required)
  • Friday remote
  • Schedule flexes for critical milestones (quarterly kickoffs, fit sessions, sample reviews)
Compensation and Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and sick time
  • Retirement savings plan
  • Monthly ThreadBeast subscription package included
How to Apply
