Job summary

A leading company in custom scenic fabrication is seeking a Technical Designer for an I.A.T.S.E. Local 1 Union position. The role involves developing technical designs based on client specifications and creating technical drawings for shop builds. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or Engineering, have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in 3D AutoCAD and Inventor. Technical Designer (I.A.T.S.E. Local 1 Union position)

Provider of custom scenic fabrication, automation, and bespoke finishes servicing live entertainment, film and video productions seeking Technical Designer (I.A.T.S.E. Local 1 Union position) who is responsible for developing technical solutions for the live entertainment industry, based on client-supplied design concepts as well as visual information and technical specifications, while incorporating safe and cost-effective construction techniques. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Develop technical solutions for creative and entertainment industries, Create technical drawings for shop build based on designer drawings, layouts, and other visual aids, Communicate with the client’s creative and management staff during the design and construction phases of the project, Work closely with Project and Production managers to meet budgetary and scheduling goals. Requirements

Qualified individuals must have Bachelor’s degree or above in Technical Theatre, Engineering, and/or equivalent experience. Has minimum 3 years of relevant experience in entertainment or experiential technical design. Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD and/or Inventor, as well as Microsoft programs.
