Job summary

Gensler Chicago’s Cities Studio is seeking an experienced Technical Designer to advance complex facility projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to craft design solutions, develop presentations, and deliver production drawings that meet project goals.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years’ related experience, proficiency in Revit and 3D visualization, and a strong portfolio demonstrating leadership and design problem solving in critical facilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of related project experience, with interest or background in critical facilities related projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.
  • Beginning knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
  • A fast learner with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Critical Facilities team on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

What You Will Do

Your Qualifications
