Job summary

Gensler in Washington, DC is seeking a technically proficient Technical Designer to lead in the Critical Facilities practice. You will produce technical documentation and coordinate with design teams to ensure construction documents reflect the design intent.

This is a non-remote, on-site role based in Washington, DC. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Architecture with 15–20 years of professional experience, proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling software; familiarity with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture with 15-20 years of professional experience.
Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and construction techniques preferred.
Experience in construction document prep and field observation preferred.
RA/NCARB in the U.S. preferred; portfolio with sustainable projects encouraged.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver functional spaces within the Critical Facilities Practice Area.
Coordinate finished plans, specs, and materials; ensure design intent in docs.
Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction.
Participate in construction administration, bids, site visits, and QC.
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulators.
Use 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.
