Job summary

EnVogue International is seeking a Technical Designer to own the fit and technical development across sportswear, sleepwear, loungewear, and intimates, ensuring lines meet standards for fit, construction, comfort, and quality. This hands-on role involves working with garments, fit samples, and overseas vendors from development through production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Technical Design experience across apparel categories such as sportswear/sleepwear/loungewear.
• Strong knowledge of construction, patternmaking, grading, fit, and manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience conducting fit sessions and evaluating garments for balance and proportion.
• Understanding of woven and knit fabrics and their impact on fit.
• Experience creating tech packs, specs, grading rules, and fit comments.
• Accurate measurement and meticulous spec documentation.
• Experience communicating with international factories and vendors.
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel; Illustrator and PLM a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

About the Role

As a Technical Designer, you will manage the fit and technical development process across sportswear, sleepwear, loungewear, and intimates, ensuring products meet standards for fit, construction, comfort, and quality. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who is highly technical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with garments, fit samples, and overseas vendors from initial development through production.

What You'll Do

• Manage the technical development and fit process from Proto and Fit through PP and TOP.
• Lead fit sessions, measuring garments, evaluating fit and construction, and providing clear corrective direction.
• Create and maintain tech packs, measurement specs, construction details, fit comments, and grading specifications.
• Establish consistent brand fit standards and grading rules across product categories.
• Evaluate garment construction, proportion, balance, silhouette, comfort, and overall fit.
• Review patterns and provide technical direction on construction, measurements, grading, and fit corrections.
• Evaluate fabric characteristics including stretch, recovery, shrinkage, and drape and their impact on fit.
• Review PP and TOP samples to ensure measurements, construction, fit, and workmanship meet approved standards.
• Communicate detailed fit comments and technical corrections directly to overseas factories and vendors.
• Partner with Design and Production to troubleshoot fit, construction, and manufacturing issues.
• Manage multiple styles and fit rounds simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Technical Design experience within apparel, ideally across sportswear, sleepwear, loungewear, intimates, or related categories.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, fit, and apparel manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience conducting fit sessions and evaluating garments for fit, balance, proportion, and construction.
• Understanding of woven and knit fabrics, including stretch, recovery, shrinkage, and their impact on fit.
• Experience creating tech packs, measurement specifications, grading rules, and detailed fit comments.
• Exceptional accuracy in measuring garments and maintaining spec sheets.
• Experience communicating technical direction to international factories and vendors.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Adobe Illustrator and PLM experience are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or a related field preferred.
