Job summary

Benaar LA in Los Angeles is seeking a production specialist to bridge creative concepts with factory execution. You will own tech packs, lead fittings, and coordinate fabric selections for knits and wovens, ensuring on-time delivery while preserving design intent.

You will collaborate daily with designers and overseas partners to optimize patterns, finishes and fit, driving efficient sample cycles and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience translating creative concepts into production-ready garments.
• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive tech packs (construction flats, spec sheets, BOM).
• Experience leading fittings and translating feedback into pattern corrections.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, and finishes for knits and wovens.

Job description

• Partner with the Creative Director and President from the first sketch, flagging construction challenges early and offering solutions that preserve the design intent.
• Translate creative concepts into production-ready garments across knits and wovens, including complex contemporary silhouettes.
• Create and maintain complete tech packs: construction flats, spec sheets, graded measurement charts and bill of materials (BOM).
• Create flat sketches for line sheets.
• Keep the development calendar on track so every drop hits its delivery date.

Fit

• Lead fittings on live models from proto through production, capturing the Creative Director’s feedback and translating it into precise measurements and pattern corrections.
• Prepare samples for fittings, upload fit photos and record every fit comment in the tech pack.
• Evaluate samples for fit, drape, proportion and finish, and approve or correct quickly.
• Keep fit consistent from drop to drop so our customer can trust her size.

Fabric and trims

• Recommend fabrics, weights, blends and finishes for each style, balancing look, hand, drape, performance and cost.
• Review lab dips, strike-offs, fabric swatches and trims against standards.
• Flag fabric risks early, including shrinkage, stretch, pilling, color and care issues.

Factory and production

• Communicate daily with our factory partners in China, by WhatsApp, Basecamp, email and video call, resolving questions from spec through construction.
• Give clear technical direction that minimizes sample rounds and keeps production accurate.
