Job summary

About the job

The CAD Designer will coordinate and execute technical activities on assigned projects using Autodesk Inventor software.

Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate and review drafting work; monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and Company standards; ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.

This is an onsite position located in Broken Arrow, OK.

Responsibilities
  • Independently produce accurate drawings, models, and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering notes and sketches to resolve design‑related issues.
  • Have general knowledge with industrial piping and design principles.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, Project Management, customer representatives, suppliers, and shop personnel to assure that all aspects of the design are met.
  • Ensure incoming orders are complete and specified designs are feasible.
  • Verify the scope of special requirements and design with sales personnel.
  • Communicate directly with project managers and sales on drawing approval submittal and status, timely GA revision, comment resolution, timely fabrication release, timely submittal to manufacturing, and the resolution of any shop design conflicts requiring clarification or revision.
  • Operate AutoCad Inventor 3D models including iLogic automation to create order‑specific GA (general arrangement) and detail component drawings.
  • Update order tracking system(s) as specific tasks are completed.
  • Review customer approval drawing comments for change impacts.
  • Verify bill of materials and advise purchasing on release to order materials (fab release).
  • Provide documentation necessary for product registration with regulatory agencies, for example, Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN).
  • Work to ensure timely approval according to customer order schedules.
  • Work with product engineering to clarify design questions by regulatory authorities.
  • Check order documentation accuracy as produced by others within the department at various stages throughout the engineering process.
  • Provide improvement feedback to the iLogic developer to ensure continual improvement and efficient design solutions for reduction of Engineering and/or Manufacturing cycle time.
  • Support Manager with other tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies and company‑wide safety requirements; encourage action assuring safe behavior; confront unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct oneself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design or Engineering required, but equivalent industry experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years’ experience as CAD designer in a manufacturing environment required; air‑cooled heat exchanger industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in 3D modelling packages required, Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • ASME Section VIII pressure vessel code and other related codes and standards of ANSI, ASTM, API preferred.

Pay

The base salary for this role is typically $38.00 to $45.00 hourly.
