Job summary

J.Jill is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support the development of product categories from design concept through production readiness. You will help ensure fit, construction, quality, and design intent while partnering with the Senior Technical Designer and cross-functional teams.

The role involves setting up development technical packages, coordinating fit sessions, and communicating with vendors and overseas partners to help bring designs to life.

Qualifications

• Apparel degree or equivalent with draping, construction and pattern making.
• 2+ years experience in assistant Technical design to Associate position.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Illustrator and product life cycle programs.

Responsibilities

• Attend design hand-offs and interpret design and fit intent.
• Set up development technical packages with specs, construction details and sketches.
• Prepare work for Fit Sessions, schedule product for fit and input data into PLM.
• Analyze patterns from vendor vs. slopers after fit sessions with Senior Technical Designer.
• Participate in fit sessions to expand knowledge across categories and take notes for follow-up questions.
• Communicate with internal and overseas partners.
