Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College is seeking a Technical Crew member to support the Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC) with lighting, sound, scenic and some video tasks for events.

This is an on-call, part-time role with hours varying; evening and weekend work is required. You will support Academic Music, Academic Theatre, the Performing Arts Series and internal/external rentals at the Main Campus. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; list related experience on resume.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of scene shop tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Theatrical equipment knowledge preferred.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, etc.), Outlook email, and internet
• Basic understanding of scene shop tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivated, self‑directed, and able to work alone or as part of a team, as needed
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced work environment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to bend, and repeatedly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic understanding of theatrical equipment is preferred
• Understanding of theatrical terms preferred
• Must be available to work nights and weekends.
