Job description

About SyntheticFi

SyntheticFi is a fast-growing FinTech startup redefining how financial advisors and their clients access sophisticated lending products. We are a team of engineers and financial experts. Our mission is to make institutional-grade borrowing strategies accessible at scale through innovative products powered by box spreads. We work with financial advisors (Registered Investment Advisors, RIAs) to provide our solutions to clients, usually high-net-worth individuals.

Since launch, we’ve sustained 20%+ month-over-month growth, become a category leader, and raised funding from Y Combinator and leading investors in the WealthTech industry.

About the Role

As our Technical Content Writer, you will create clear and engaging content across marketing materials, blog articles, sales collaterals, product and operational documentation, FAQs, social media, and other formats. You must have the ability to explain complex information clearly and practically. While we do not require financial knowledge to start with, you will become an expert on our product, so you must be curious about finance and FinTech.

We believe content is a core part of our product, and we expect you to apply product development methods. You will build and own a content engine that combines user research, writing, feedback, and iteration.

Location: In-person in San Francisco OR Remote

About the Team

You’ll work directly with company leadership, financial advisors, their clients, and other internal teams to help shape how sophisticated financial concepts and operational details are communicated to the market. We’re a small, highly collaborative team that values ownership, curiosity, execution quality, and rapid iteration. This is an opportunity to join early, build a content engine from the ground up, and have a direct impact on company growth.

About You

You have exceptional writing skills and a proven ability to turn complex ideas into clear, engaging content.

You have experience in product and project management, and you are especially familiar with structuring and managing the Discovery–Development–Feedback–Iteration cycle.

You’re naturally curious, enjoy learning new industries, and can quickly develop expertise in highly technical subject matter.

You’re based in the United States and excited to work remotely with a fast-growing startup.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with go-to-market teams, engineering, and operations to learn and stay up-to-date about SyntheticFi product features and procedures.
  • Learn complex financial products and translate them into clear, engaging content
  • Create content across multiple channels, including newsletters, blogs, social media, product documentation, video tutorials, FAQs, etc.
  • Lead and manage the content development cycle; partner with external users and internal stakeholders to discover what content is required, develop the content, gather feedback, and continuously improve
  • Conduct user research to identify content opportunities
  • Own the full content lifecycle from research and planning to writing, publishing, and optimization
  • Leverage AI design tools (e.g., Claude, Canva) to accelerate content production while maintaining quality and accuracy
Must-Haves
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Proven ability to take complex topics and distill them into clear, concise, and engaging content
  • Ability to ramp quickly on complex financial concepts and develop sufficient domain expertise to create technically accurate content
  • Has personally executed the Discovery–Development–Feedback–Iteration cycle, and can own that process end-to-end
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating real content production experience across both long-form and short-form formats
  • Willing to learn and leverage AI tools to enhance research, design, and execution while maintaining ownership of quality and accuracy
  • Produces content that sounds thoughtful, human, and authentic, not generic or AI-generated
Nice to Have
  • Experience in financial services / FinTech / WealthTech, or the financial advisor ecosystem.
  • Experience with large information architecture projects
  • Experience working in hyperscaling startups
  • Experience with SEO, GEO, and content optimization
What's Great About This Job?
  • Have full agency on our content engine with full company resources as support; own the entire content lifecycle, from research and strategy to writing, publishing, and optimization
  • Work directly with company leadership and users at all levels
  • Have a visible impact in a small, fast-growing company where your work directly influences growth and product adoption
  • Full suite of benefits across 401K plans, Healthcare Insurance, Dental, Vision
  • Compensation:

Base Salary + Bonus + Equity

Base Salary: $85,000 - $125,000

Bonus: 10% of base salary

Equity: 0.1% - 0.4%

*Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States. We may support continued work authorization for existing H-1B or O-1 holders, but we do not sponsor initial U.S. work authorization, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, STEM OPT, or new H-1B petitions.
