Job summary

Staffmark Total Talent Solutions is seeking a Technical Content Producer for our Plano, TX location. This on-site contract role focuses on creating technical materials and producing product videos that clearly explain electronics and home appliances.

The ideal candidate has a film/video or animation background (or 3–5 years), expert Adobe CC skills (Premiere, After Effects), and a portfolio demonstrating ability to translate manuals into engaging visuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Film/Video or Animation or 3–5 years of professional experience.
• Understanding of consumer electronics and home appliances and related terminology.
• Expert-level proficiency with Adobe CC, especially Premiere and After Effects.
• Familiarity with creating graphics from product manuals for videos.

Pay Rate: $61.11 per hour

Schedule: Fully on-site, Monday thru Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM (hours may vary)

Summary:

The main function of a technical writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve material for standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
• Review and approve edits or changes made to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction and binding.
• Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Film/Video or Animation, or equivalent professional experience of 3-5 years.
• Understanding of consumer electronics and home appliances, including common product features, terminology, and customer use cases.
• Expert-level proficiency with Adobe CC suite, particularly Premiere and After Effects. Familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator are also preferred.
• Familiarity with manipulation and animation of existing vector imagery, such as diagrams or renderings from product user manuals, to be used as graphic elements in live-action videos, or animated elements.
• Advanced knowledge of camera operation principles
• Advanced knowledge of video editing principles
• Able to work with scripts or outlines and translate them into shooting scripts for dynamic videos that cast our products in the best possible light.
• Able to re-work technical language (ie. user manuals) into smooth, explanatory voiceover and text – the ideal candidate will have a passion for explaining technical processes to a layperson, and will strive to create videos in which voiceover, text, graphics, and image all work together to provide information in the most efficient, engaging way possible.
• The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in a corporate environment, comfortable communicating via office email, drive conversations to get needed information, and follow common corporate communications etiquette.
• Time management is extremely important – the candidate must be able to work and provide updates on multiple projects, proactively call out roadblocks and risks, meet deadlines, ask questions when needed, and desire to grow in their role.
• The ideal candidate makes the job their first priority, works quickly, and contributes to the team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in consumer electronics, tech, or a related category
• Familiarity with eCommerce content workflows, including PDP strategy and execution
• Experience managing localization workflows
• Background working with or alongside HQ or global brand teams in a subsidiary or regional marketing structure
• Exposure to DAM systems and creative production pipelines
• Experience developing and maintaining toolkit systems or brand resource hubs for cross-functional teams

• Writing examples (creative or technical)
