Job Description and Duties

Caltrans is looking for a highly motivated, self‑starting individual to join our District 03 IT Supervision team over our Technical Consulting and Deployment Services Unit. Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding position that will provide you with wide range of IT supervisory experience, extensive variety, frequent exposure to new technologies, and career growth? The position is a remote‑centered telework position based in our Marysville office.

Under general direction of the IT Manager I, the incumbent serves as the Chief of the District 03 Technical Consulting and Deployment Services Unit. This unit is comprised of IT professionals in various IT classification levels ranging from an IT Associate to IT Specialist I, who are responsible for PC/Customer support, IT equipment deployments, IT Property Inventory, IT Procurements, application and audio visual support. The incumbent oversees complex IT functions which include in depth systems analysis, design and administration, systems integration, testing, maintenance and operations. The incumbent has full supervisory responsibilities for standards, processes, procedures for the analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, operation and procurement of software deployment and support for a wide array of software technologies. The incumbent has full supervision of staff responsible for all activities associated with the day‑to‑day IT operations of the District 03 Technical Consulting and Deployment Services Unit. The incumbent will have responsibility to ensure all standard District 03 IT procurements follow all established processes and procedures.
